New Bakkah...our Foundation which stems from the great historical presence and significance of its name, to face a present reality full of challenges; in order to envision a future that promises signs of progress and renaissance. Motivated by Makkah’s referential authority and the longing of millions of people for this sacred city and its role throughout history in achieving unity and integration; from Quraysh’s political and commercial journeys in summer and winter, through Dar al-Nadwah (Assembly House) that was established for consultation and decision making, to the blessed prophetic mission which spread the light of Islam all over the world in order to establish justice, equality and good governance.
Our foundation... sets out from this historical depth towards a future laden with good tidings of renaissance by encountering the present day reality with creative visions, ideas and activities that serve the Foundation’s three axes. These axes are: the referential authority of Makkah and its historical and religious role in achieving affinity and unity; the spiritual, social, economic and political integration of the countries and communities of the Muslim World; and the implementation of systems and policies of good governance promoted by Islam through the ideals of justice, equality, consultation and honoring mankind.
New Bakkah is an independent foundation that fosters activities of integration and good governance by utilizing a number of programs and projects. We hope to shed light on the Foundation’s visions, objectives, axes and projects in this introductory profile.
